Supplies & Tools:
  • Basic supplies
  • Quilt piecework supply list:
    - Four coordinated colors of clay, rolled to medium-thick setting (#2 on Atlas machine)
    - You will only need about a 2” square of each color
    - Printed copy of the cutting guide sheet page at the end of the handout that will be sent out. It is recommended that you laminate the page or spray it with acrylic spray (or hairspray) to prevent transfer of the ink to the clay when cutting.

Supplies & Tools:
Basic supplies: Pasta machine, work surface, blades and other regular tools.
Materials for creating tools:
  • Hardened Clay – any color, in block (do not sheet) Stiff block preferred
  • Soft Clay – for designing your own impression
  • Impression Tools, such as deeply etched rubber stamps
Wires, Wavy Blades, Extruders (to create extruded shapes), Screwdriver Bits, Shaped Cutters, Hollow Tubes, Adding Machine or Scotch Tape Inner Plastic Core, Old Credit Card, Gift Card or Hotel Key Card, Strips of corrugated plastic ‘political’ or ‘real estate’ signage, also known as shipping board.
Materials for creating mokume gane stack:
  • Premo Polymer Clay, however, and brand will do.
o A minimum of 2 oz. black, 2 oz. white, and 4 oz. translucent – more clay will make a bigger stack.
